Gina Trapani from Lifehacker recently did a review of Safari 4 entitled “A Hands On Look at Safari 4’s (Crashy) Eye Candy“. She explains how although Apple is claiming that they’re “leading the way with innovation”, the latest version of Safari offers very few features that haven’t already been done in other browsers (namely, Chrome) a long time ago.

Here are the top ten negative things that she said in that review, in quote format:

“… all things we’ve used before in other browsers.”

“… been-there-done-that feature …”

“Another page stolen from Chrome’s playbook …”

“… you’ll probably find this change pretty disconcerting …”

“… this is the one visual effect where Chrome” … “actually does a nicer job.”

“… Safari 4 reminded me several times that it’s not kidding about that “beta” label.”

“Safari 4 is still super-crashy …”

“… it’s got a long way to go in the stability department.”

“… not the fastest kid on the block …”

Last but certainly not least, “Safari 4 Is Not Ready for Everyday Usage”
